Protections for TURNS – EN ISO 23125:2015

MAJOR and AM Series

The safety of the operator of every machine tool is the mission of REPAR2, which within its range has guards for TURNs in accordance with the standard EN ISO 23125:2015.

Specializing in safety guards for machine tools, REPAR2, with its MAJOR and AM series, offers a range of protection solutions for lathes that comply with EN ISO 23125:2015.

Among the most common machine tools in machine shops, conventional i.e., non-CNC lathes need appropriate guards to prevent machining material from coming into contact with the operator (glowing chips) and greatly reduce the risk of contact with the spindle and tool and workpiece. With our devices, the risk of injury is greatly reduced.

In fact, EN ISO 23125:2015 specifies safety requirements to reduce the risks of

– Manually operated lathes without numerical control;

– manually operated lathes with limited numerical control; Self-learning-

Characteristics of lathe guards:

The lathe guards in question made by REPAR2 protect the operator from direct contact with rotating parts (spindle) and the projection of lubricant-coolant.

The Major and AM series are easily anchored to the machine by solid brackets.

They are made of RAL1007 baked-coated steel and buffered windows of thick, impact-resistant Lexan polycarbonate or 4+4mm laminated glass. The screens slide on absolutely wear-resistant aluminum ball sleeves.

The AM version protects both the front and rear of the spindle. The AM version does not have standard dimensions but is custom made according to the size of the lathe.

The protection is then developed with CAD system, so by doing so, the customer can immediately realize the screen’s overall dimensions and find its most appropriate shape and size for his needs.

Both versions are also equipped with a safety microswitch.

The importance of the separate actuator switch with lockout (h2)

However, due to the speed and inertia of the spindle, it is difficult to achieve immediate stop with the opening of the guards. Therefore, these must be equipped with the device to lock the guard at its opening until the spindle is stopped. Repar2 equips its protective guards with a separate actuator safety micro switch with lock that allows the doors to be opened only under certain safety conditions to safeguard the operator.
